Reading this table. “DPS per $1K” is how much damage you buy per 1,000 cash — higher is better value. Prices are colour-coded the way the game does it: green for cash, blue for Robux-only. Radius is the coverage area shown in the shop, not firing range. Unit icons are cropped from in-game shop UI in public gameplay footage.

Analysis

Best air defense — value, layout, and what the UI will not tell you

The cheap line has the biggest radius

AP 110 through AP 980 all sit at 350 radius. Laser defender drops to 280, Cromwell to 270, Anode Defense to 260. By area that is 45% less coverage than a turret costing fifty times less. Nothing else in the game is priced this counter-intuitively.

AP 150 is the value king

1.09 DPS per $1K, the best ratio in the category. Vulcan sits at 0.11 — roughly ten times worse per dollar. If you are filling empty slots on a budget, the AP line wins on every metric except one.

That one metric is survivability

Vulcan has 3,000 health against AP 150’s 700. Expensive turrets are bought to survive a barrage, not to shoot more. Mixed layouts work: AP units for coverage, one or two high-health pieces where fire concentrates.

Layout principle: centre the AA, buffer with buildings

Anti-air and anti-sea share one 20-slot cap. Place turrets central so their radii overlap the most of the plot; put buildings forward as a meat shield. Filling empty slots with high DPS/$ units beats three prestige turrets leaving gaps. No public intercept formula exists — we publish shop stats and placement rules, not invented hit chances.

Value ladder for “best air defense” searches

Budget fill: AP line (350 radius, best DPS/$). Mid cash: Laser defender / Cromwell when you need more DPS and can accept smaller radius. Prestige survivability: Anode Defense and Vulcan for health, not coverage. Robux sponge: Mini-Shield (0 DPS, cannot be destroyed) — never count it as firepower.

Mini-Shield is not a turret

0 DPS, 5,000 health, and the shop states it cannot be destroyed. It is a 320 Robux damage sponge, not a weapon — do not count it toward your defensive output.
